Adoration
Begin by lifting your eyes to who God is in His fullness. Consider His eternal nature and unchanging character. As the Psalmist declares, 'Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom' (Psalm 145:3). Reflect on how God has revealed Himself through creation, through Scripture, and through the person of Jesus Christ. Whether you're in a moment of joy or struggling through difficulty, God remains sovereign and holy. Spend a few moments simply acknowledging His majesty, His love, His wisdom, and His faithfulness. You might pray words like: 'Lord, You are worthy of all my devotion. Your name is above every name, and Your kingdom has no end.'
Confession
Now bring your whole self before God with honesty and openness. The Scripture reminds us that 'if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness' (1 John 1:9). Take a moment to consider where you have fallen short—perhaps through unkind words, selfish choices, divided loyalties, or neglecting God's presence in your day. Don't rush this; let the Holy Spirit gently reveal what needs to be confessed. Remember that confession is not about self-condemnation but about restoration and freedom. As you confess, claim the promise that through Christ, you are forgiven and made clean.
Thanksgiving
Shift your heart toward gratitude for all that God has given and done. Jesus Himself modeled this, offering thanks even in difficult moments. As Paul writes, 'Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus' (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Consider the gifts in your life—both the obvious blessings and the hidden mercies you might easily overlook. Thank God for breath, for relationships, for answered prayers, for provision, and for His presence even in valleys. Thank Him for Christ's redemptive work on your behalf. You need not have perfect circumstances to have a grateful heart; gratitude acknowledges God's goodness even amid life's uncertainties.
My Concerns
Finally, bring your requests and the needs of others before the Lord with boldness and trust. Jesus encourages us, 'Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you' (Matthew 7:7). Share your genuine needs, your concerns, your desires, and your struggles. Pray for wisdom in daily decisions, for strength in weakness, for healing where there is pain, and for guidance where there is confusion. Remember to intercede for others—family, friends, leaders, and even those you find difficult. Hold your requests with open hands, trusting that God hears and cares, and that His answers are always for your ultimate good.
