Evening Reflection with Jesus
A gentle prayer guide to close your day by bringing the hours you've lived—the good, the hard, the ordinary—into conversation with Jesus. This is space to rest in His presence as evening settles around you.

Adoration
Begin by noticing what draws your heart toward Jesus right now. You might start simply: *Jesus, you made this day. You were in it, even in the moments I didn't see you.* Think of one thing—however small—that showed you His character today. A kindness someone offered. A moment of beauty. A time you felt held. Speak it aloud or in the quiet of your heart. As the prophet Isaiah reminds us, *"In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation" (Psalm 5:3, NIV)*—and the same is true in the evening. Your attention to His goodness matters. Tell Jesus what you've noticed of Him.
Confession
The day is done, and with that comes a chance to be honest. You might feel regret about something you said or didn't say. A choice that pulled you away from Him. A thought you held onto that wasn't true. Or you might simply feel the weight of your own weakness—knowing you can't hold it all together. Rather than turning away from that, turn toward Jesus with it. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, ESV)*. Speak what's real. You don't need to be polished. He already knows, and He's waiting for you to be honest.
Thanksgiving
Even in difficult days, there are threads of grace woven through. Take a moment to notice them. A meal shared. A task completed. Someone who believed in you. A quiet breath. A problem that didn't get worse. The fact that you're still here, still searching, still willing to turn toward God. You might pray, *Jesus, thank you for...* and let the words come. As Paul writes, *"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:18, ESV)*. Gratitude doesn't erase the hard things—it anchors you in what's also true.
My Concerns
Now bring the weight you're carrying, the hopes you're holding, and the help you need. What do you need from Jesus as you rest tonight? Peace about tomorrow? Strength for something you're facing? Healing for something that hurts? Wisdom about a decision? *"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7, NIV)*. He invites you to ask. Lay it down here. You might pray for yourself, for someone you love, for the world. There's no rush and no formula—just bring what's on your heart.
