Adoration
Begin this midday moment by lifting your eyes to the character of God who stands above all circumstances. Praise Him as the God who does not abandon us in trials, for as it says in Deuteronomy 31:6, 'Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.' Acknowledge His eternal strength and unfailing faithfulness, recognizing that the difficulties you face today are known to Him and held within His sovereign hands. Let your heart rest in the truth that God's compassion is renewed every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23), and even now, in this challenging midday hour, His mercies are fresh and available to you.
Confession
Turn now to examine your heart with honest vulnerability before the Lord. Confess the ways you may have relied on your own strength rather than trusting in His provision—the anxious thoughts, the moments of doubt, perhaps the anger or despair that has risen within you during this difficult season. As 1 John 1:9 reminds us, 'If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.' Acknowledge also any ways you may have withdrawn from others or from God Himself when you needed connection most. Bring these things openly before Him, knowing that confession is not about judgment but about clearing the path for His healing grace to flow into the broken places of your heart.
Thanksgiving
Even in difficulty, pause to recognize and give thanks for the gifts God has already provided. Thank Him for this very moment—that you have taken time to seek Him, that you are not facing this alone, and that His Word is available to sustain you. Express gratitude for past victories and answered prayers that remind you of His faithfulness, for people who have supported you, for breath in your lungs, and for the hope that Romans 15:13 promises: 'May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.' Thank Him too for the very struggle itself, as difficult as it is, because it drives you deeper into dependence on Him and shapes you into greater likeness to Christ (James 1:2-4).
My Concerns
Bring your specific needs and burdens directly before the throne of grace with confidence. Ask God to grant you wisdom to navigate this difficult situation—not just immediate relief, but discernment about the steps you should take (James 1:5). Pray for courage to face what lies ahead, emotional strength to endure, and a renewed sense of His presence that sustains you through the afternoon still ahead. According to Philippians 4:6-7, 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.' Ask Him to grant that supernatural peace, to calm your racing thoughts, and to help you sense His nearness in tangible ways. If appropriate, pray for the circumstances themselves to shift, for people involved to be moved by His Spirit, and for redemption and restoration in whatever form His wisdom deems best.
