Adoration
Begin by lifting your eyes to the character of God, who remains constant even when circumstances feel unbearable. Acknowledge that He is a refuge and fortress, as David declares, 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble' (Psalm 46:1). In this moment of difficulty, choose to focus on His steadfast nature—His mercy that never fails, His power that sustains all things, and His intimate knowledge of every struggle you face. Let your heart rest in the truth that you are not abandoned in this trial, but held by hands that never grow weary.
Confession
Take a moment to honestly examine your heart before God. Confess any anxiety, doubt, or bitterness that may have taken root as difficulty has pressed in. The apostle Paul reminds us, 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God' (Philippians 4:6). Acknowledge where you may have leaned on your own understanding rather than trusting His wisdom, or where fear has gripped you more tightly than faith. Release these to Him, knowing that He receives your confession with compassion and forgiveness through Christ.
Thanksgiving
Even amid difficulty, gratitude unlocks spiritual perspective and resilience. Thank God for His faithfulness in past struggles, for the specific grace He has extended to you today, and for the promise that He works all things for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Give thanks for the strength you still possess, for people who stand with you, and for small mercies that might otherwise go unnoticed. Psalm 100:4 invites us to 'Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise.' Gratitude is not denial of your pain—it is choosing to see God's hand even within it.
My Concerns
Now bring your specific needs before God with honest, earnest requests. Lay down the weight you've been carrying at His feet. Ask for wisdom to navigate the next steps, for courage to face what lies ahead, and for supernatural peace that 'transcends all understanding' to guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). Petition Him for relief where possible, for endurance where necessary, and for a fresh encounter with His comfort. Ask also that this difficulty would draw you closer to Him and deepen your dependence on His grace, transforming trial into testimony.
