Adoration
Start by lifting your eyes to the greatness of God. Praise Him for His faithfulness that never fails, for as Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us, "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Reflect on God's character—His wisdom, strength, and endless mercy. Speak words of adoration for who He is, independent of what He does. Thank Him that He is worthy of your worship, that His glory fills the heavens, and that you have the incredible privilege of knowing His name through Jesus Christ.
Confession
Now, bring your honest self before the Father. Confess any sins, worries, or resistance you're carrying into this new day. As 1 John 1:9 assures us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." Don't hide behind formality; speak plainly about areas where you've fallen short, where you've harbored doubt, or where you've chosen comfort over obedience. Ask the Holy Spirit to illuminate any blind spots and receive the gracious forgiveness Christ purchased for you at the cross.
Thanksgiving
Express genuine gratitude for the specific and ordinary blessings in your life. Thank God for His protection through the night, for rest, for breath, for another chance to follow Him. As Paul writes in Philippians 4:4-6, "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!... Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Pause to acknowledge the people, circumstances, and provisions you often take for granted. A thankful heart prepares soil where faith can grow throughout your day.
My Concerns
Bring your needs and the needs of others before your loving Father. Ask Him to guide your steps, strengthen your spirit, and align your will with His. Present your concerns about the day ahead, requesting wisdom for decisions both large and small. As Jesus taught in Matthew 7:7-8, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." Intercede for your loved ones, your work, your challenges. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with His presence and empower you to live as a faithful witness throughout this day.
