Good morning. Whatever is pressing on your heart right now, Jesus is already awake and waiting to hear from you. Let's bring it all to him.

Adoration

Start by just sitting with who Jesus is—not who you need him to be, but who he actually is. He is steady. He doesn't rush. He is present in this moment with you, even before you speak. You might pray something like: "Jesus, you are the God who does not sleep. You see me this morning, and you are not surprised by what I'm feeling. You are faithful, even when I'm not sure what comes next." Let that sink in. As the psalmist wrote, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:14, NIV). Before this day unfolds, let yourself rest in the fact that you belong to someone who loves you completely. You are not a problem to solve. You are beloved.

Confession

Anxiety often whispers that you should be able to handle this alone, that worry means you don't trust enough, or that you've already failed. You haven't. Confession isn't about proving you've messed up—it's about being honest. You might say to Jesus: "I'm afraid. I'm carrying things I wasn't meant to carry by myself. I've been trying to control what I can't control, and it's exhausting." That's enough. Jesus didn't say, "Come to me, all who have it figured out." He said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, NIV). Your anxiety doesn't disqualify you from his presence. It's actually an invitation to step closer.

Thanksgiving

Even in anxiety, there are small truths worth naming. Maybe you're grateful for coffee, for breath, for one person who knows your name, for the fact that this moment will pass. You might say: "Thank you, Jesus, that I'm not facing this alone. Thank you that you promised never to leave me. Thank you that your mercies are new this morning." As Lamentations reminds us, "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:22-23, NIV). Gratitude doesn't erase anxiety, but it steadies you. It reminds you that you're held.

My Concerns

Now bring your specific worry to Jesus—not as a problem to confess, but as a real concern you need help carrying. Name what's anxious in you this morning. You might pray: "Jesus, I'm worried about [name it]. I don't know what's coming, and I'm scared. Will you help me take just the next step? Help me trust you with what I can't see or control." Then listen for his gentleness. He might remind you of a truth, calm your body, or simply sit with you. As you move into your day, you could carry one simple prayer: "Jesus, I belong to you. I will not be afraid" (based on Isaiah 43:1, ESV). He doesn't promise the anxiety will vanish, but he promises to be with you in it.
