Adoration
Begin by lifting your eyes and heart to the God who never sleeps and who has kept you through the night. As the psalmist declares, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?" (Psalm 27:1). Rejoice that His mercies are new every morning, and His compassion never fails (Lamentations 3:22-23). Spend time acknowledging His majesty, His wisdom, and His boundless love. Tell Him how grateful you are that He is already at work in this day, ordering your steps and preparing good works for you to walk in (Ephesians 2:10). Praise Him for His character—His faithfulness, His strength, and His tender care over all His children.
Confession
Now bring your whole self before Him with honesty and humility. Confess any sins from yesterday that still weigh on your conscience, any bitterness you may harbor, or any ways you have strayed from His commands. The apostle Paul reminds us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Acknowledge areas where you lack faith, where you struggle with pride, or where you have failed to love others as Christ loves you. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything in your heart that grieves Him, and receive the freedom that comes through honest repentance and His amazing grace.
Thanksgiving
Move into gratitude by recognizing God's gifts both great and small. Thank Him for the basics—breath, shelter, and daily bread—and for the deeper blessings of salvation and His abiding presence. As Paul writes, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). Express appreciation for answered prayers from the past, for people who love you and support you, and for challenges that have shaped your character. Acknowledge His protection through the night and His faithfulness that has sustained you. Let your heart overflow with praise for the privilege of knowing Jesus and walking in relationship with the living God.
My Concerns
Finally, bring your requests before the throne of grace with confidence and surrender. Ask God to guide your decisions today and to grant you wisdom as you navigate work, relationships, and challenges (James 1:5). Pray for strength to resist temptation, for gentleness in your interactions, and for a heart that remains focused on His kingdom. Lift up specific needs, concerns, and people who weigh on your mind. As Jesus taught, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7). Present your day to Him, asking that He would use you as an instrument of His peace and that His will would be done through you. Pray for boldness to share your faith and compassion for those who are hurting.
