Morning Meetings: A Prayer for Wisdom and Grace
A guided ACTS prayer designed for those facing meetings throughout their day, seeking God's wisdom, clarity, and peaceful presence as they navigate conversations and decisions.

Adoration
Begin this morning by lifting your heart to the God who is present in every moment and every room you enter. Praise Him as the source of all wisdom and the ultimate counselor. As James reminds us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault" (James 1:5). Adore the Holy Spirit who dwells within you and can guide your words and thoughts even in the midst of important conversations. Honor God's sovereignty over the outcomes of your meetings, recognizing that His purposes will be accomplished regardless of human agendas. Let your heart swell with gratitude that you serve a God who cares about the details of your day and promises His presence in every gathering.
Confession
Take a moment to confess any anxiety or pride you may be carrying into these meetings. Acknowledge any tendency to rely on your own understanding rather than seeking God's guidance, or any desire to control outcomes that rightfully belong to Him. Confess any words spoken hastily yesterday or attitudes of frustration toward colleagues or supervisors. Bring before the Lord any fear of judgment or failure that might cloud your thinking. As 1 Peter 5:7 encourages us, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." Release these burdens honestly, knowing that God's mercy is new this morning and extends to every stumble and weakness.
Thanksgiving
Thank God for the opportunity to work and serve in whatever capacity He has placed you. Express gratitude for colleagues, even those who challenge you, knowing that God can use all relationships for growth. Give thanks for past meetings where God provided clarity or peace, and for His faithfulness in previous difficult conversations. Thank Him for the mind He has given you, for any skills and experience you bring to the table, and for the privilege of serving Him through your work. As Colossians 3:17 instructs, "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Celebrate that your work, including these meetings, can be an act of worship and service to Him.
My Concerns
Humbly ask God to grant you wisdom and discernment as you listen and speak in your meetings today. Request clarity of thought and the ability to communicate your ideas effectively and compassionately. Pray for humility to hear others' perspectives and for grace in areas of disagreement. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your words so that they are truthful yet kind, firm yet respectful. Petition God for peace that surpasses understanding to calm any nervous energy, and for the courage to speak up when necessary. Specifically request that any decisions made would align with God's values and the good of others involved. Finally, ask for wisdom to know when to listen, when to speak, and when to wait in silence, as Proverbs 17:27 teaches: "The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint."
