Adoration
Begin this morning by lifting your eyes to the One who is greater than your circumstances. Adore God for His unchanging character—His faithfulness that endures through every season, His strength that never wavers, and His love that pursues us even in the darkest valleys. As the psalmist declares, 'The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want' (Psalm 23:1), reminding us that even in difficulty, our Good Shepherd leads us with care and purpose. Spend a few moments praising Him for who He is: eternally wise, infinitely compassionate, and completely sovereign over all things. Let your heart acknowledge that no circumstance is beyond His reach or His redemptive power.
Confession
Now, with honesty and openness, bring your struggles before the Lord. Confess any fear, doubt, or anger that has taken root in your heart during this difficult time. Perhaps you've questioned His goodness, relied on your own strength instead of His, or allowed bitterness to creep in. Jesus invites us to 'come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest' (Matthew 11:28), and this invitation extends to the places where we've stumbled. Acknowledge where you've fallen short, where you've lost sight of His faithfulness, or where you've acted out of desperation rather than trust. Invite the Holy Spirit to search your heart and reveal any hidden resistance to His will, that you might experience the freedom of genuine confession.
Thanksgiving
Even in difficulty, God has woven mercies throughout your life that deserve recognition and gratitude. Thank Him for the specific blessings that surround you—your breath, another day of life, relationships that support you, and the hope found in Christ. As Paul writes, 'Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus' (1 Thessalonians 5:18), we're reminded that thanksgiving isn't dependent on our circumstances improving, but on our perspective shifting toward God's goodness. Thank Him for past victories that prove His faithfulness, for the lessons you've learned through hardship, and for His promise never to leave or forsake you. Consider too the spiritual growth that difficulty often produces—thank Him in advance for the character He's developing in you through this season.
My Concerns
Now bring your requests before the Lord with the confidence that He listens and cares deeply. Ask Him for the strength you need to face this day, for wisdom to navigate the decisions before you, and for peace that transcends understanding. As Jesus taught us, 'Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you' (Matthew 7:7), so freely present your specific needs—relief from pain, clarity in confusion, healing in relationships, or provision in lack. Pray for perspective to see this difficulty through His eternal lens, for faith to replace your fear, and for the courage to trust Him even when the path ahead remains unclear. Ask Him to use this season to draw you closer to His heart and to work all things together for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28).
