Morning Prayer for Meetings

A structured ACTS prayer guide to prepare your heart and mind for the meetings ahead, seeking wisdom, clarity, and Christ-centered communication throughout your day.

Morning Meetings
5–12 min

Good morning! As you begin this day filled with meetings and conversations, come rest in God's presence for a few moments and invite Him to direct your steps.

Adoration

Begin by acknowledging God's sovereignty and presence as you face this new day. Praise Him for His infinite wisdom and His promise to guide those who seek Him. As Jesus taught His disciples, remind yourself that "in the multitude of counselors there is safety" (Proverbs 11:14), and more importantly, that God Himself is the ultimate counselor and source of all wisdom. Celebrate His faithfulness in past meetings and encounters, recognizing that He cares deeply about every conversation and decision you will participate in today.

Confession

Reflect honestly on your heart as you approach these meetings. Confess any anxieties, pride, or selfish motives that may influence your participation. Bring before the Lord any tendency to seek approval from others rather than from Him, or any desire to promote your own interests over truth and goodness. As Paul reminds us, "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Ask God to purify your intentions and align your will with His, freeing you from fear and ego.

Thanksgiving

Give thanks for the opportunity to engage with colleagues and collaborators, recognizing that these interactions are gifts from God. Express gratitude for the mental clarity and physical health that enable you to participate fully in your work. Thank God for past successful meetings, for lessons learned through challenging ones, and for the people around the table who bring diverse perspectives. As the apostle Paul writes, "rejoice always; again I will say, rejoice" (Philippians 4:4), and cultivate a spirit of gratitude that will calm your mind and open your heart to see God's hand in the day ahead.

My Concerns

Petition God for specific needs as you prepare for your meetings. Ask Him to grant you wisdom to listen well, to speak truthfully and kindly, and to discern the best path forward when faced with decisions. Pray for clarity of thought and the ability to communicate your ideas effectively. Request that God would guide those leading the meetings, softening hearts and opening minds to productive dialogue. As Jesus promised, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault" (James 1:5). Ask also for patience, grace toward others, and the courage to stand firm on what matters while remaining humble about what does not.
