Adoration
Begin this new day by lifting your gaze to the God who has already been awake before you. As the psalmist declares, 'One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple' (Psalm 27:4). Spend a moment honoring His eternal nature, His faithfulness through countless dawns, and His constant presence that has never wavered. Thank Him for the gift of this fresh morning—a canvas unmarked by yesterday's mistakes, a new opportunity to experience His grace. Worship the God who spoke light into darkness at creation and continues to illuminate your path each new day.
Confession
As morning light reveals what was hidden in darkness, invite God's Spirit to illuminate the corners of your heart. Bring before Him any burdens you carry—words spoken in haste, thoughts that don't honor Him, intentions that fell short of His design. The apostle John assures us that 'if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness' (1 John 1:9). Don't hide from this moment of honesty; instead, approach it with the confidence that confession opens the door to freedom. Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart, and release whatever weights you've been carrying into His merciful hands.
Thanksgiving
Now turn your heart toward gratitude for the countless mercies that greeted you this morning. Give thanks for the simple gift of breath, for a mind awakening to another day, for the roof over your head and the people in your life. Paul reminds us to 'give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus' (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Reflect on the ways God has sustained you—protection through the night, provision that continues, and love that never ceases. Even in the midst of challenges, there is always something for which to be grateful. Name these blessings by name, and let your heart swell with appreciation for a God who deserves our thanks.
My Concerns
Now bring your needs, hopes, and desires before your loving Father. Jesus teaches us, 'Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you' (Matthew 7:7). Lay before God the desires of your heart for this day—ask for wisdom in decisions you'll face, strength for challenges ahead, kindness toward those you'll encounter, and alignment with His purposes. Pray for your loved ones, your work or studies, and the situations weighing on your mind. Bring the concerns that surface as you begin this day, knowing that 'the Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth' (Psalm 145:18). Trust that He hears you and cares about every detail of your day.
