Adoration
Begin by turning your focus to the character of God, even in this difficult season. The Lord is not distant from your pain; He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit, as the psalmist reminds us: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). Take a moment to adore God for His faithfulness through all circumstances. Consider how His strength has upheld you in past trials, and how He remains constant and unchanging. Worship Him for His compassion, His wisdom that sees what we cannot see, and His promise never to leave us or forsake us, as He declares: "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5).
Confession
In this moment of honesty before God, release the weight you have been carrying alone. Confess any anger, doubt, fear, or despair that has taken root in your heart. The Lord invites us to bring everything to Him: "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). Admit where you may have tried to control outcomes, where you've doubted His goodness, or where you've turned away from Him in disappointment. There is no judgment here, only grace. As it is written: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Pour out your genuine feelings, knowing that God sees your struggle and welcomes your authentic self.
Thanksgiving
Even in difficulty, there are gifts to recognize and receive with gratitude. Thank God for His presence with you in this trial, for the people who have shown you kindness, and for the strength He continues to provide each day. Express gratitude for small mercies—a moment of peace, a word of encouragement, or simply another day to seek His face. Remember that giving thanks is an act of faith: "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Thank Him for His Word that sustains you, for the hope of His redemptive plan, and for the promise that He works all things together for the good of those who love Him, as Paul assures us: "We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him" (Romans 8:28).
My Concerns
Now bring your specific needs, your deepest longings, and your requests before the Father with bold confidence. Tell Him what you need—strength for today, healing, direction, peace, provision, or simply the grace to endure. Jesus taught us: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find" (Matthew 7:7). Lay out your burdens without holding back, knowing that your cries matter to Him. Pray for others who are affected by your difficulty, and ask God to work in ways that draw you and those you love closer to Him. End this section by surrendering your requests to His wisdom, trusting that He hears you and responds with perfect love and perfect timing.
