Seeking Wisdom This Morning
A prayer guide to invite Jesus into your decisions and questions as you begin your day. Take time to acknowledge His presence, confess where you're unsure, give thanks for His faithfulness, and ask for clear direction in the choices ahead.

Adoration
Start by noticing who Jesus is—especially the part of Him you need to meet you in this moment. You might praise Him as the one who sees the whole picture when you can only see the next step. As it's written, "The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?" (Psalm 27:1, ESV). Talk to Him about His wisdom, His patience with your uncertainty, His steady character. You could say something like, "Jesus, You know the future. You know what I cannot see. I want to trust You." Take a moment to let gratitude for His presence settle over you before moving forward.
Confession
Now be honest about where you're stuck. Do you find yourself trying to figure everything out alone instead of asking Him? Are you afraid of the answer He might give, so you've been hesitant to really ask? There's no judgment here—just truth spoken to someone who loves you. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, ESV). Your doubt, your anxiety about getting it wrong, your confusion—these are things He invites you to hand over. You might simply say, "I've been trying to control this. I'm scared of making the wrong choice. Help me let go." The confession is not about shame; it's about opening your hands and admitting you need Him.
Thanksgiving
Before you ask for anything, pause to remember what He has already done. Think back to a time He guided you well—even a small thing. Maybe He opened a door you didn't expect. Maybe He closed one that would have hurt you. Maybe He simply showed up in a conversation at exactly the right moment. The psalmist reminds us, "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him" (Psalm 34:8, ESV). You've tasted His goodness before. Thank Him for those moments. Thank Him that this morning itself is a gift—that He woke you up and is here with you now. This gratitude becomes the ground on which your request stands.
My Concerns
Now tell Jesus exactly what you need guidance about. Don't soften it or dress it up—just say it. Is it a decision between two paths? An uncertainty about timing? A relationship that's unclear? A work situation? A sense that you're supposed to move toward something but you're not sure how? Jesus invites you with these words: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7, ESV). You might pray, "Show me the next right step," or "Help me know whether to move forward or wait," or "Give me clarity about..." and name it. Don't rush this part. Ask specifically. Then invite Him to speak—through His Word, through circumstances, through wise counsel, through the quiet knowing He plants in your heart. Ask for eyes to see the signs He's already placing in your path.
