About Words to Pray
Words to Pray helps you find the words to pray. Every day, we offer fresh, Scripture-grounded guides that turn the desire to talk to Jesus into an actual conversation.
Where this began
Words to Pray grew out of a simple problem: wanting to pray but not knowing what to say. Inspired by John Mark Comer's Practicing the Way and the spiritual disciplines movement — the ancient Christian practice of building a life around being with Jesus — we set out to solve what we call the "blank page" problem.
If you've ever sat down to pray and felt stuck, you're not alone. Words to Pray was built so that the next time you want to talk to Jesus, the words are already waiting for you.
How it works
Every prayer guide follows the ACTS prayer framework — Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication. It's a simple, biblical structure that gives your prayer time shape and depth.
Each day, we publish fresh guides for morning, midday, and evening — plus guides for specific situations like anxiety, celebration, or seeking guidance. Scripture is woven naturally into every guide so your conversation with Jesus stays grounded in His Word.
For everyone
Words to Pray is free — no subscription, no paywall. You don't even need an account to start praying. We welcome anyone seeking a conversation with Jesus, regardless of denomination, background, or where you are in your journey.
Whether you're new to prayer or looking for more structure in a long-standing practice, our guides meet you where you are.
How guides are created
Prayer guides are crafted using AI, grounded in Scripture. Every guide is structured around the ACTS framework and reviewed to ensure it faithfully serves your time with Jesus.
The goal is simple: help you find the words to pray so you can focus on the conversation, not the blank page.
