A Fresh Start: Morning Prayer
Begin your day by opening your heart to Jesus. This gentle guide walks you through gratitude, honesty, and the invitation to follow Him into whatever the day holds.

Adoration
Start by lifting your gaze to who Jesus is. You might begin simply by naming what you already know of Him: His patience, His strength, His nearness. As you think of His character, let those thoughts become your words. The psalmist writes, "I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word" (Psalm 119:147, ESV). What draws you to Jesus this morning? Perhaps it's His faithfulness from yesterday, or the way He never stops calling you closer. Take a moment to tell Him what you see in Him—not to impress Him, but to let your own heart catch up to the truth of who He is. You might whisper His name, recall a moment when you felt His love, or simply sit in awe at the thought that the Creator of this new day knows you by name.
Confession
Honesty is a gift you can offer Jesus, especially at the start of a fresh day. There's no judgment here—only the kind of honesty that clears the air between you and Him. You might bring words left unsaid yesterday, a way you turned from Him, a thought you nursed that wasn't true. Or perhaps you simply feel the weight of being human—tired, uncertain, not yet ready for the day. Jesus invites us to come as we are: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, ESV). Take a quiet moment and name what's on your heart—not because you've done something wrong, but because confession is how we make room for His grace. Let your honesty be as simple or as detailed as you need it to be.
Thanksgiving
Even in an ordinary morning, there is grace to notice. Before the day rushes forward, pause to name what Jesus has already given you. Maybe it's the pillow beneath your head, the breath in your lungs, or someone who loves you. The apostle Paul reminds us, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18, ESV). You don't need to manufacture gratitude; simply let your eyes fall on what you're genuinely glad for. The warm coffee. A moment of peace before everyone else wakes. The promise that He is with you today. Speak those gifts back to Him—not as obligation, but as a way of recognizing His hand already at work in your life.
My Concerns
Now invite Jesus into what this day may bring. You might ask for clarity on a decision, strength for something difficult, or simply the presence of mind to notice His goodness as the hours unfold. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:6, ESV). Talk to Jesus about where you need Him most. What concerns you? What are you hoping for? What would it look like to trust Him today? Don't hold back—He invites your full, unfiltered heart. You might ask for wisdom, courage, patience, or simply the grace to be fully present with the people around you. End by asking Him to help you walk with Him throughout these hours, to notice His leading, and to turn back to Him when you stumble.
