A Fresh Start: Morning Prayer
Begin your day by opening yourself to Jesus in the quiet of morning. This guide walks you through adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication—creating space to lay down yesterday and receive what this day holds.

Adoration
Start by noticing who Jesus is. In the stillness of morning, there's often a clarity about His presence that busier hours can cloud. You might simply tell Him what strikes you about Him right now—His faithfulness, His patience, His gentleness. As the apostle Paul wrote, "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life" (2 Peter 1:3, ESV). That power is already moving. You don't have to summon it or earn it. It's there, ready for this day. Speak to Jesus about the qualities you see in Him—the ones that steadied you yesterday, or the ones you're discovering fresh this morning.
Confession
Before the momentum builds, bring the smaller things—and the larger ones too—into the light. There's no shame in this moment; it's simply honesty between you and someone who already knows and loves you anyway. If yesterday left some weight, or if you woke carrying regret or doubt, name it simply. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, NIV). The burden doesn't disqualify you from His presence—it's exactly why you bring it. Take time to speak whatever needs speaking: words left unsaid, actions you wish you could redo, places where you didn't trust Him.
Thanksgiving
Even on ordinary mornings, gratitude shapes how we see. Notice small gifts: breath, light through a window, a moment of quiet, someone you love, a second chance in a new day. You might thank Him for the obvious—a roof, food, safety—or for the quiet: the fact that He meets you here, before anything else demands your attention. In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Paul reminds us to "be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (ESV). Even one sincere thank-you shifts something in your heart. Speak it aloud or let it settle quietly: gratitude for who He is and what He's already done.
My Concerns
Now bring the day itself. What does today hold for you? Perhaps uncertainty, or a specific conversation, or simply the unknown. Ask Jesus for what you need: wisdom, courage, gentleness, patience, clarity, peace. You might pray for others too—someone on your heart, someone struggling, someone you'll encounter today. As you bring these requests, remember that Jesus listens not because you've earned an audience, but because He cares about you and everything you carry. Psalm 37:4 says, "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (ESV). Speak your needs honestly. Ask Him to be present in the moments ahead, to guide you, to remind you of His nearness when you forget.
