A Fresh Start: Morning Prayer to Begin Your Day
Begin your day by opening your heart to Jesus. This prayer guide walks you through adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication, creating space for you to set your intentions and lay your day at His feet.

Adoration
As you wake into this new day, let your first movement be toward Jesus. Speak to Him about who He is—not as a distant idea, but as the One who has already been awake, already at work, already watching over you. You might notice something about His character that strikes you this morning: His faithfulness that never slumbers (Psalm 121:4), His mercies that are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). Tell Him what draws you to Him. Maybe it's His gentleness. Maybe it's His strength. There's no formula here—just you and Jesus, talking about why He matters to you. Let your words be simple and true. Spend a moment acknowledging His presence with you right now, in this very ordinary morning.
Confession
Now, gently bring the weight you're carrying. Jesus already knows what happened yesterday, what's weighing on your heart this morning, where you stumbled or fell short. There's no shame in laying it down here. You might confess impatience, fear, words you wish you hadn't spoken, ways you've turned inward instead of toward Him. As you speak these things aloud or in the quiet of your heart, remember that Jesus came not to condemn but to restore (John 3:17). He invites you: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Let His grace meet you here. You don't have to clean yourself up first. He takes you as you are, and He makes all things new.
Thanksgiving
Before you ask for anything, pause and notice what's already been given. The breath in your lungs, the bed you woke up in, a person who loves you, a single kindness from yesterday, the hope that today is a chance to begin again. Gratitude isn't about pretending everything is easy—it's about recognizing God's hand in the small and the significant. You might thank Him for specific gifts, or simply for His steadiness. The Psalmist knew this: "Enter his gates with thanksgiving" (Psalm 100:4). Even in an ordinary morning, there is much to be grateful for. Take a few moments to name what you see, what you feel, what you've been given. Let thankfulness fill the space before your requests.
My Concerns
Now bring your day to Jesus. What do you need from Him today? Wisdom for a decision you're facing, patience for a difficult conversation, courage for something unfamiliar, peace in your mind, strength for your body, direction for your steps. You don't need fancy words. Jesus cares about what's real in you. Bring your hopes, your fears, your uncertainties. Ask Him to guide you, to be present in the moments ahead, to help you see His hand at work. As Paul wrote, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:6). Lay your day at His feet and ask Him to walk through it with you. Trust that He hears and that He cares deeply about what concerns you.
