A Fresh Start This Morning

Begin your day by inviting Jesus into the hours ahead. This prayer guide helps you offer your morning to Him—your plans, your worries, your hopes—and ask for His presence to shape everything you do.

Morning Everyday life
5–12 min

Welcome. As the sun is rising on this new day, come and sit with Jesus for a few moments. He is already awake and eager to meet you here.

Adoration

Start by noticing who Jesus is. You don't need to perform or prepare—just turn your attention toward Him. Maybe think of a time recently when you felt His presence, or simply recall His faithfulness in your story. You might pray something like: Jesus, I want to know you more deeply today. I'm grateful that you are not distant or tired. As the apostle Paul wrote, 'His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us' (2 Peter 1:3, ESV). That means He is already moving in your life, already at work. Take a breath. Acknowledge His goodness, His patience, His endless care for you. Tell Him what draws you to trust Him. There's no formula here—just honesty, just you, turning toward Him.

Confession

Now gently look at your own heart. What weighs on you? Where did you stumble yesterday, or early this morning? The beautiful truth is that confession is not about proving how bad you are—it's about opening the door so Jesus can come in and heal. As John reminds us, 'If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness' (1 John 1:9, ESV). You don't have to rehearse a list. Just ask: Jesus, where do I need your forgiveness today? Maybe it's impatience, a careless word, a grudge you're still holding, a choice you regret. Name it quietly. Let yourself feel His grace wash over you—He is not surprised by any of it, and He loves you anyway. You are already forgiven.

Thanksgiving

Move your heart toward gratitude. Look at your life right now—even the ordinary things. A warm bed you woke in. Someone who loves you. Breath in your lungs. Eyes to read these words. As the Psalms say, 'Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise' (Psalm 100:4, ESV). Thanksgiving opens us up. It reminds us that we are not alone and that God has already been generous beyond measure. What can you thank Jesus for today? Maybe something big from your past, or something small from yesterday. Maybe it's simply that He is who He is. Spend a moment here. Let gratitude soften your heart.

My Concerns

Finally, bring your day to Him. Not as a demand, but as a request from someone who trusts that He cares about what you care about. What do you need today? Where do you feel uncertain? Who is on your heart? Jesus said, 'Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you' (Matthew 7:7, ESV). He invites your asking. You might pray: Jesus, I bring this day to you. I ask for wisdom in the decisions ahead. I ask for patience with the people I'll meet. I ask for your presence when I feel tired or afraid. I ask that you would work in ways I can't see. And I ask that you would help me notice your faithfulness throughout today, so I'm not just pushing through—I'm walking with you. Speak your needs plainly. Let Him carry them.
