A Morning Conversation with Jesus
Start your day by turning your heart toward Jesus. This prayer guide walks you through adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication—giving your morning to him before the day pulls you in different directions.
Morning
Everyday life
5–12 min
Adoration
Begin by simply noticing who Jesus is. In this quiet morning moment, before responsibilities crowd in, let yourself be aware of his presence with you. He is already awake. He is already aware of this day ahead of you. You might tell him what draws your heart to him this morning—his faithfulness, his gentleness, his strength. As the psalmist writes, "In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly" (Psalm 5:3, NIV). That waiting—that turning your attention to him first—is adoration. It is choosing him before anything else claims your attention.
There is no rush here. You might worship him for who he has always been to you, or for something specific you witnessed of his character yesterday. You might simply say, "Jesus, you are good," and let that truth settle over your day before it begins. He welcomes the words that come naturally from your heart.

Confession
As you sit with Jesus in this morning quiet, invite him to show you where your heart has drifted. Not to shame you, but to bring you back. There may be words you spoke hastily yesterday, a way you turned from someone, a choice made in fear rather than faith. Or there may be nothing dramatic—just the small ways we all hold back, doubt, or turn inward when we could turn toward him and toward others.
Jesus invites you into honesty. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, NIV). Notice that promise: he doesn't shame you. He cleanses you. In this morning hour, name what comes to mind—what you need to release or turn around. Then let yourself receive the forgiveness that is already yours. Start the day clean, not carrying yesterday's weight.

Thanksgiving
Morning light itself is a gift. You have breath in your lungs. You have another day. These simple realities deserve gratitude. But move beyond the obvious too—thank Jesus for the people in your life, for lessons learned, for patience he's shown you, for ways he has provided even when you did not notice at the time.
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:18, NIV). Thanksgiving is not about pretending everything is easy. It is about recognizing that even in difficulty, Jesus has not left you. You might thank him for hard things that shaped you, for people who challenge you to grow, for the very struggles that taught you to depend on him. Let gratitude anchor your heart as the day begins.

My Concerns
Now bring your hopes and needs before Jesus. What are you walking into today? What worries you? What do you long for? He invites you to lay these down. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7, NIV).
You might ask him for wisdom in a decision ahead, for patience with someone difficult, for courage if you feel afraid, for joy if the day feels heavy. You might pray for someone you love, for your community, for situations you have seen or heard about. Bring it all. He cares about the weight you carry. Ask him to guide your steps, to give you words to speak, to help you see others as he sees them. And then, because you have placed your requests before him, let yourself trust that he is with you as the day unfolds.
