A Morning of Joy

Begin your day by bringing your celebration to Jesus. Whether it's a milestone reached, good news received, or simply the gift of this new morning, invite Him into your gladness and let your joy deepen as you offer it back to Him.

Morning Grateful for something
5–12 min

Good morning. There's something to celebrate today, and Jesus wants to be part of it. Let's bring your joy to Him.

Adoration

Start by simply noticing what you're grateful for in who Jesus is. He is the source of every good thing, and this morning, that feels especially real to you. You might thank Him that He is generous—that He doesn't hoard goodness but pours it out freely. As the Psalmist says, "Taste and see that the Lord is good" (Psalm 34:8, ESV). Right now, in this moment of celebration, you're tasting that goodness. Tell Him what you see in Him that makes this joy possible. Maybe it's His faithfulness, His strength, His tenderness, His timing. Don't rush—let yourself linger in admiration of who He is and how He shows up in moments like this one.

Confession

Even as you celebrate, there may be small things worth naming—moments when you doubted this joy would come, or times when you forgot to look for His hand in the good. You might confess places where you wanted to take credit instead of giving it to Him, or where worry almost stole your ability to enjoy what He's given. None of this diminishes your celebration; it deepens it. Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, ESV). Rest in His forgiveness now. He isn't disappointed in you. He's delighted to see you free enough to celebrate.

Thanksgiving

This is the heart of your prayer time. Bring your celebration fully to Jesus now. Thank Him specifically for what He's done—the answer He provided, the door He opened, the person He brought into your life, the strength He gave you, the breakthrough that came. Don't be vague. Let your words overflow with the particular joy of this moment. The Apostle Paul reminds us, "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" (Philippians 4:4, ESV). Your thanksgiving is your rejoicing. As you thank Him, you're declaring that He is worthy of your joy, that He is the reason for it, and that you trust Him even beyond this celebration.

My Concerns

End by asking Jesus to help you carry this joy forward. You might pray that He would keep your heart tender enough to remember this goodness on harder days. Ask Him to help you share this celebration with others in a way that points them to Him. You could pray that whatever this celebration represents—whether it's a new season, a restored relationship, a answered prayer, or simply the grace of a new day—that He would help you steward it well. The Psalmist says, "May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands" (Psalm 90:17, ESV). Let Him bless what comes next.
