A Morning of Joy — Celebrating God's Goodness
Begin your morning by inviting Jesus into your celebration. This prayer guide helps you offer your joy back to him, give thanks for what he's done, and ask him to sustain this gladness throughout your day.

Grateful for something

Adoration
Start by simply telling Jesus what you admire about him. You might thank him for being the kind of God who delights in his people's happiness. Speak to his character—his generosity, his faithfulness, his love that makes celebration possible. As the psalmist says, "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name" (Psalm 100:4, ESV). There's no need for fancy words here. Just let your gratitude for who he is spill over naturally. Tell him about the God you see—the one who gives good gifts, who knows your name, who created joy itself.
Confession
Take a moment to gently check your heart. In the middle of celebrating, are there places where you've forgotten to include Jesus? Times when you've taken the credit for something good, or enjoyed a blessing without recognizing his hand in it? You don't need to dredge up shame here—just be honest. As Jesus said, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God" (Matthew 5:8, ESV). If there's anything between you and him, name it simply. He's not waiting to scold you; he's waiting to clear the way so your joy can be complete.
Thanksgiving
This is where your celebration finds its fullest voice. Tell Jesus specifically what you're grateful for. What has happened? What has he done? What blessing are you holding today? Don't rush through this—let each thing land. Give him thanks not just for the big moment, but for the small things that led to it: the people he put in your path, the doors he opened, the way he sustained you. As Paul writes, "Rejoice always... in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:4, 6, NIV). Your gratitude is a kind of worship. It's you saying to Jesus: I see your hand in this, and I'm grateful.
My Concerns
Now bring your hopes forward. Ask Jesus to help you carry this joy well—to share it generously, to let it make you kinder and more generous to others. Ask him to use this celebration as a reminder of his goodness on the harder days ahead. You might pray for wisdom to steward this blessing, or for his presence to stay close as life continues. As Jesus teaches us, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find" (Matthew 7:7, NIV). Bring your heart's wishes before him—not just for the celebration to last, but for it to change you, to draw you closer to him, and to overflow into the lives around you.
