A Morning of Joy: Celebrating With Jesus
Start your day by bringing your joy to Jesus. This prayer guide invites you to share what you're celebrating, thank Him for His goodness, and ask Him to deepen the joy that comes from His presence.

Adoration
Begin by acknowledging who Jesus is—the source of every good gift. You might start by simply naming His character. What is it about Jesus that makes you want to celebrate? Maybe it's His faithfulness, His nearness, His power, or His love. As you think about what brought you joy, let it lead you to Him. The psalmist invites us into this: "Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things" (Psalm 98:1, ESV). Your celebration itself can be an act of worship. Tell Jesus what you admire about Him. Thank Him for being the kind of God who cares about our joy and walks with us through it.
Confession
Pause here and be honest with Jesus about your heart. Sometimes when we're celebrating, we can forget where the blessing came from—or we might hold joy so tightly that we forget to include Him in it. You might confess any way you've taken credit for what He's done, or any moment you've celebrated without remembering His hand in it. There's no condemnation here; Jesus already knows and loves you. As Paul writes, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1, ESV). If there's anything that's dimmed your joy—worry, comparison, or ungrateful thoughts—name it gently. Jesus is listening, and He's already made a way for you.
Thanksgiving
Now let your celebration become thanksgiving. Take time to name the specific things you're celebrating. Be detailed. What happened? Who was involved? How did it feel? Thank Jesus not just for the event, but for how He showed up in it. Thank Him for the people around you, for the strength you had, for the way things unfolded. David knew the power of this: "I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds" (Psalm 9:1, ESV). As you give thanks, you might notice your joy deepens—gratitude has a way of doing that. Tell Jesus how this celebration has drawn you closer to Him, or ask Him to help you see His hand more clearly in it.
My Concerns
End by asking Jesus to anchor this joy. You might ask Him to help you remember this moment when harder days come. Ask Him to help you celebrate in a way that honors Him and includes the people around you. Pray that this joy would overflow into how you love others today. You could ask Him to show you what He wants to do next—sometimes a celebration is the beginning of something new. As James reminds us, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above" (James 1:17, ESV). Ask Him to keep your heart grateful, to protect your joy from becoming pride, and to help you invite others into what He's doing in your life.
