A Morning Offering

Start your day by opening your hands and heart to Jesus. This gentle guide walks you through adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication—a way to place the hours ahead into his care before the day pulls you in different directions.

Morning Everyday life
5–12 min

Good morning. Before the day unfolds, take a few moments to meet Jesus here—to notice his presence and invite him into whatever comes next.

Adoration

Begin by simply noticing who Jesus is. You might start by thinking of a time recently when you sensed his goodness—a kindness shown to you, a moment of peace, the way creation speaks. As the writer of Hebrews reminds us, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8, ESV). He was faithful yesterday; he will be faithful today. You might pray something like: *Jesus, you are worthy of my attention this morning. You are steady. You are kind. I want to see you.* Let that truth settle for a moment. What draws you to him today?

Confession

Now bring your honest self. There's no need to perform or clean yourself up first—Jesus already knows. Think about yesterday, or even this morning: where did you move away from him? Where did you choose your own way, speak hastily, or let fear guide you instead of trust? The beautiful news is that "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, ESV). You might simply name it: *Jesus, I confess that I...* and then pause. Let yourself be honest. He is not shocked. He is waiting to restore you.

Thanksgiving

Move into gratitude—not because you have to, but because there is always something true to be thankful for. Maybe it's your breath this morning, a person who loves you, a promise you know is real, or simply that you made it to today. "Rejoice always, and again I say, rejoice" (Philippians 4:4, ESV). Even small things count. Even survival counts. You might pray: *Jesus, thank you for...* and let the list be as short or as long as it needs to be. What comes to mind?

My Concerns

Finally, bring your needs and the needs of others before him. What weighs on you this morning? What are you stepping into today that feels uncertain, difficult, or exciting? What do you need his strength for? Jesus invites us: "Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7, ESV). You don't have to have the right words. You might pray: *Jesus, I need you in...* or *Please be present with...* or *Help me to...* Bring it all to him. He is listening, and your words matter.
