A Morning Offering

Start your day by offering yourself to Jesus — your thoughts, your hands, your heart. This guide walks you through adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication as you invite Him into the hours ahead.

Morning Everyday life
5–12 min

Good morning. Before the day pulls you in different directions, take a few moments to sit with Jesus and lay your day at His feet.

Adoration

Begin by noticing who Jesus is. You might start simply: He has already been awake, already at work, already thinking of you. As the psalmist writes, "In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly" (Psalm 5:3, NIV). There's no rush here — just acknowledge that He is faithful, that He is present, that He is worthy of your attention before anything else claims it. You might tell Him what draws you to Him this morning: His steadiness, His mercy, His power. Let your praise be honest and simple.

Confession

Now, invite Jesus to help you see yourself clearly. Ask Him: where have I turned away from you, even in small ways? Where have I relied on my own strength instead of yours? You don't need a long list — just openness. As John writes, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, NIV). Speak what comes to mind, knowing that confession is not about shame but about stepping back into the light. Jesus already knows; He's inviting you to know it too, so you can be free.

Thanksgiving

What has Jesus already done? Not someday—today, this week, this season. Maybe it's a person who showed you kindness, a prayer He answered, a moment when you felt His presence, or simply that you woke to another day. "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:18, NIV). Take time to name these gifts one by one. Gratitude roots you in what is true and steadies your heart before the unknowns ahead. Thank Him for what you can see, and thank Him even for what you can't yet understand.

My Concerns

Now bring your day to Him. What do you need? What are you worried about? What do you hope for? You might pray for wisdom as you face decisions, courage if you're anxious, patience with someone you'll encounter, or simply that you'd remember His presence when you're busy. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to Jesus" (Philippians 4:6, NIV). Be specific. Be real. Ask Him to guide your words, steady your hands, and help you see others the way He sees them. Ask Him to remind you of this conversation when you need it most.
