Grateful for something

Adoration
Begin by simply telling Jesus what you love about Him, especially as you see His hand in what you're celebrating tonight. You might notice His faithfulness, His generosity, His timing, or the way He delights in your joy. The psalmist invites us into this: "Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant" (Psalm 135:3, ESV). What aspect of His character stands out to you right now? Take a moment to speak it aloud or let it rest in your heart. You don't need fancy words—just genuine ones. Tell Him what makes Him worthy of your praise, especially in this moment of celebration.
Confession
As you sit with Jesus in joy, there may be small things to name—moments when you took the credit instead of seeing His hand, or times you nearly missed the blessing because you were distracted or hurried. There's no heaviness here, just honesty. As John writes, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, ESV). You're safe to bring any shadow alongside your light. If nothing comes to mind, that's all right too—simply rest in the fact that He knows you completely and loves you anyway.
Thanksgiving
This is where your evening naturally goes. Thank Jesus for the specific good thing you're celebrating—the person, the achievement, the answer, the unexpected gift, the moment of connection. Don't rush it. Psalm 100 invites us: "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name" (Psalm 100:4, ESV). Let your thanks spill out naturally. Thank Him for smaller things too, if they rise up—the meal you ate, the people around you, the safety of this day. Celebration deepens when we name what we're grateful for. Take your time here.
My Concerns
Now that your heart is full, bring your hopes forward. You might pray for this good thing to continue or deepen, for wisdom in how to steward what you've been given, or for others to experience similar joy. You might ask Him to help you hold this moment lightly and trust Him with tomorrow. Jesus Himself taught us to ask: "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (Mark 11:24, ESV). What do you want to ask Him for next? It might be thanksgiving for something already given, or a whispered hope for what could come. Bring it to Him—He is listening.
