Adoration
Start by simply telling Jesus what you admire about Him in light of what you're celebrating. You might notice how His character shines through this good thing. Maybe you see His generosity, His faithfulness, or His kindness in what has unfolded. As the psalmist writes, "Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant" (Psalm 135:3, ESV). There's no need to be formal here—just speak to Him like a friend who has shown up for you. Tell Him what stands out to you about who He is. What does this moment reveal about His heart?
Confession
Even as you celebrate, you might notice places where you've been quick to take credit, or moments when joy made you forget to turn toward Him. That's okay to name. You might confess times you celebrated without thanking Him, or ways pride crept in alongside the happiness. Jesus is not waiting to spoil your joy—He's inviting you to share it more fully with Him. As He reminds us, "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you" (John 15:7, ESV). Bring any small distance you feel, any self-centeredness, and simply tell Him. He's already near.
Thanksgiving
This is the heart of your prayer tonight. Take time to name specifically what you're grateful for—not in a rushed way, but slowly, letting each thing matter. Thank Him for the details: the people involved, the timing, the little surprises along the way. Thank Him for how this good thing came about, for doors He opened, for His provision. You might echo the words of Philippians: "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice... Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:4, 6, ESV). Let gratitude fill the space. Tell Jesus what this celebration means to you, and thank Him for inviting you into His joy.
My Concerns
As you close, ask Jesus for what matters most now. You might ask Him to help you carry this joy forward, to remember it in harder seasons, or to use it to bless others. Ask Him to keep your heart centered on Him even as you savor this good news. You could pray for wisdom about what comes next, or simply ask Him to deepen your trust in His goodness. The invitation stands: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, ESV). Even in celebration, rest in Him. Ask for what your heart truly needs.
