An Evening Prayer After Meetings
A prayer guide for the evening, reflecting on the meetings of your day and bringing them to Jesus. This guide helps you process conversations, decisions, and interactions through Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication—opening space to be known and to know Him more clearly as the day winds down.

Before a big moment

Adoration
Begin by turning your attention to Jesus—the one who listens without distraction, who speaks with perfect clarity, and who sees every corner of your day. As you settle into this quieter hour, acknowledge who He is. Jesus promised His disciples, 'Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you' (John 14:27, ESV). Unlike the fractured attention and competing agendas of meetings, Jesus offers you undivided presence. Take a moment to thank Him simply for being the kind of God who meets with you in the evening, who doesn't rush you, and who invites you to lay down the weight of the day. You might whisper words like, 'Jesus, You are patient. You are present. You listen to me fully.' Let that truth settle over you.
Confession
The meetings behind you now—think gently back through them. Were there moments when you spoke without thinking, or listened without genuine care? Did impatience rise in you? Did you represent Jesus well in how you treated others, or do you sense a gap between who you want to be and how you showed up? This is not a place for harsh self-judgment. As Paul wrote, 'Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come' (2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV). Talk to Jesus about those moments—the frustration, the words you wish you could take back, the times you prioritized your own agenda. He already knows. Bring them to Him not as failures that define you, but as places where you want His grace to reshape you. You might pray, 'Jesus, I spoke too quickly in that conversation. I'm sorry. Help me turn from that pattern.'
Thanksgiving
Now reflect on what was good. Perhaps someone said something kind, or a decision came together more smoothly than you expected. Maybe you witnessed someone else's wisdom or courage in a meeting. Perhaps you simply survived a difficult conversation and can look back on it with a little distance now. Jesus taught that gratitude opens our eyes to see His hand at work. The Psalmist invites us: 'Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise' (Psalm 100:4, ESV). Even in ordinary meetings, Jesus is at work—sometimes visibly, sometimes quietly. Spend a few moments naming what you're grateful for from today: a colleague's laughter, clarity that emerged, a problem solved, or simply the chance to practice patience. You might say, 'Thank you, Jesus, for that moment when I felt Your calm in the middle of the rush.'
My Concerns
As the evening settles, bring Jesus what still weighs on you from those meetings. Is there a decision hanging in the air? A relationship that needs mending? A person whose words hurt you, or someone you hurt? Tomorrow's conversation that makes you anxious? Jesus invites you into this: 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God' (Philippians 4:6, ESV). You don't need to have it all figured out before you ask. Simply name what's on your heart. Bring the uncertainty, the unfinished business, the person you're worried about. Ask Jesus to give you wisdom for tomorrow, to heal what needs healing, and to show you how to move forward with grace. You might pray, 'Jesus, I'm still thinking about what happened in that meeting. Would You guide me in how to respond tomorrow? Help me trust You with the outcome.'
