Midday
Grateful for something

Adoration
Start by noticing who Jesus is in the midst of your joy. He is the giver of every good thing. Take a moment to tell him what you see: his kindness, his faithfulness, his generosity toward you. You might say something like, "Jesus, you are so good to me. You bring light into my ordinary days and bless me in ways I don't deserve." As it's written, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father" (James 1:17, ESV). Let yourself feel the warmth of knowing that the God who made everything delights in blessing you. What aspect of Jesus's character stands out to you right now because of what you're celebrating?
Confession
There's no weight to carry here—just honesty. If there's any part of you that's dimmed the celebration, name it gently. Maybe you've doubted you deserved this blessing, or you're afraid to fully enjoy it, or you've kept the joy to yourself instead of sharing it. You might pray, "Jesus, I confess I sometimes struggle to receive good gifts without feeling like I need to earn them. Help me accept your abundance with an open heart." Remember, "There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1, ESV). This is just an invitation to step into your celebration without anything holding you back. What, if anything, is keeping you from fully enjoying this moment?
Thanksgiving
This is where your heart can really sing. Thank Jesus specifically for what you're celebrating. Don't rush—let gratitude roll over you. Thank him for the details: the people involved, the timing, the surprise of it, the work he did behind the scenes. You might pray, "Thank you, Jesus, for this unexpected joy. Thank you for being faithful. Thank you for letting me be part of something good today." The psalmist invites us: "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name" (Psalm 100:4, ESV). Your celebration is an act of worship. What specific details of this blessing make you most grateful?
My Concerns
Now ask Jesus to help you steward this joy well. Pray that it would bear fruit—that it would make you more generous, more aware of his hand on your life, more eager to point others toward him. You might say, "Jesus, help me remember this goodness on harder days. Help me share this joy with others. Let this blessing draw me closer to you." Ask him to show you what comes next, if there's anything he wants you to do with this celebration. "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4, ESV). What would you want this moment of joy to change in how you live?
