Adoration
As your day winds down and questions still linger, begin by turning your attention to Jesus Himself—the One who knows the end from the beginning. He is not distant from your uncertainty; He moves toward you in it. Take a moment to acknowledge His character: Jesus, you are the Light that pierces through confusion. You see the full picture when I can only see tomorrow. As it's written, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (John 8:12, ESV). Sit with that for a moment. The One you're about to ask for guidance is the same Jesus who spoke creation into being, who knows your name, who cares about the details of your life.
You might pray about His wisdom—how it's different from the world's wisdom, how it's trustworthy when everything else feels uncertain. Thank Him that He is not asking you to figure this out alone. "Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!" (Romans 11:33, ESV). Let that sink in as evening settles around you.

Confession
Now, gently turn toward your own heart. What has kept you from fully trusting His guidance so far? There's no shame in naming it. Maybe you've been rushing ahead, trying to force an answer. Maybe you've been afraid that His direction won't match what you want. Maybe you've simply forgotten to ask. These are all human, and Jesus meets you here with gentleness, not judgment.
Bring these things into the open with Him. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, ESV). Your doubt, your fear, your impatience—none of it surprises Him. Talk to Jesus about where you've leaned on your own understanding instead of seeking His. Ask Him to soften your heart toward whatever He might reveal. There's freedom in naming these things, and it clears the space for you to truly listen.

Thanksgiving
Even in this season of uncertainty, there are threads of faithfulness you can trace. Think back: where has Jesus guided you before? What doors has He opened or closed? What has He protected you from, even when you didn't realize it at the time? Give Him thanks for those moments.
Thank Him, too, for the very fact that you're seeking His guidance—that desire itself is a gift. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above" (James 1:17, ESV). Thank Him for the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and speaks in stillness. Thank Him that His guidance isn't punishment disguised as direction; it's the kindness of a Father who loves you. You might thank Him for this evening itself, for the quiet space to bring these questions to Him without the noise of the day drowning out His voice.

My Concerns
Now bring your actual questions to Jesus. Be specific. What decision are you facing? Where do you sense He might be leading? Ask Him to make His will clear—not in a dramatic way necessarily, but in whatever way He chooses. "The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs" (Isaiah 58:11, ESV). Talk to Him about the timing; ask Him for patience as clarity unfolds.
Ask Him to quiet the competing voices—your own fears, other people's opinions, the pressure you feel. Ask for courage to follow His guidance even if it looks different than you expected. Ask Him to align your desires with His will, so that you want what He wants. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6, ESV). Rest in that promise. You don't have to see the whole path—just the next faithful step.
