Morning Celebration: Sharing Joy With Jesus
Start your day by bringing your gladness to Jesus. This prayer guide helps you celebrate what God has done and invite Him into the joy you're experiencing.

Grateful for something
5–12 min
Adoration
Begin by noticing what makes you want to praise God right now. Maybe it's the beauty breaking through your window, or a promise He's kept, or simply that He's here with you again this morning. Tell Jesus what you admire about Him—not because you have to, but because joy naturally spills into gratitude. As the psalmist discovered, 'You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy' (Psalm 16:11, ESV). What part of His character do you want to celebrate with Him? His faithfulness? His generosity? His nearness? Let those words come naturally, without rushing. He's listening and delighting in your delight.
Confession
Even in celebration, our hearts sometimes hold onto things that steal our joy—worry that it won't last, pride that we did this ourselves, or fear that we don't deserve this good thing. Take a moment to be honest with Jesus about what weighs on your joy, even a little. You might confess a moment of doubt, or admit that you forgot to thank Him yesterday, or name a way you've dimmed your own light by not fully believing you're loved. The beautiful thing is that 'if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness' (1 John 1:9, ESV). Confession isn't the opposite of celebration—it's what clears the path for joy to run deeper. Jesus doesn't want you carrying anything into this day that clouds what He's doing.
Thanksgiving
Now let your celebration become thanks. Speak out loud if you can—there's something powerful about it. Thank Jesus for the specific thing you're celebrating. Thank Him for how He brought it about, for how He's been faithful in the small moments that led here, for the people He put beside you. You might pray, 'Thank You that You didn't leave me alone.' Or 'Thank You for this answered prayer.' Or simply 'Thank You, Jesus, for this joy.' Let gratitude expand beyond this one moment too. Thank Him for mornings. Thank Him for the promise that 'His mercies are new every morning; great is your faithfulness' (Lamentations 3:22-23, ESV). Your thanksgiving is not just words—it's your heart recognizing that good things come from a good God.
My Concerns
As your day unfolds, ask Jesus to do something with this joy. You might ask Him to help you hold onto it when doubt creeps in. You might ask Him to let your celebration be contagious—to help someone else see His goodness through what He's done in your life. Ask Him to guard your heart and to keep you humble, remembering that He is the source. Tell Him any way you need Him as you step into this day. 'Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice... the Lord is at hand' (Philippians 4:4-5, ESV). You can ask Him to meet you again tonight, to remind you of this joy if the day turns hard. He's not finished with you. Ask Him for what you need, and ask Him to help you carry this celebration like a gift you're bringing to others.
