Morning Offering

A gentle guide to begin your day by bringing yourself—your plans, your hopes, your uncertainties—before Jesus. This prayer creates space to worship, release what weighs on you, give thanks for the gift of a new day, and invite Jesus into whatever lies ahead.

Morning Everyday life
5–12 min

Welcome. As morning light breaks, you have a chance to meet Jesus before the day pulls you in a dozen directions. Let's start there together.

Adoration

Begin by simply noticing Jesus—not what he can do for you, but who he is. You might start with something as simple as gratitude for his presence right now, in this quiet moment. The Psalmist knew this: "One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord" (Psalm 27:4, ESV). What does that mean for you this morning? Maybe it's his faithfulness that catches your attention. Maybe it's his gentleness, his strength, or the way he never sleeps while you do. Spend a few moments telling Jesus what you love about him—not in fancy words, just as you would speak to someone you trust. Let your adoration be honest and particular to your heart.

Confession

Now bring yourself as you actually are. This morning, you come with a real life—with thoughts you've had, words you've spoken, ways you've moved through the world. As John writes, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, ESV). There's no condemnation in this step, only honesty and relief. Is there something from yesterday you need to name? A way you turned from him, or toward something else? A harshness in your voice, an unkindness in your heart? Don't rush past this. Speak it aloud or in silence, and let yourself feel the weight lift as you bring it to him. He is not surprised. He is already waiting with forgiveness.

Thanksgiving

Pause here to notice the gifts already in your hands before the day even starts. You woke. You have breath. You have this moment. The Apostle Paul reminds us, "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:18, ESV). What are you grateful for? It might be big—people you love, a safe place to sleep, work that matters. It might be small—the taste of coffee, the way light falls through a window, a kind text from a friend. Name three things, or ten. Let gratitude settle into your chest. This is the truest soil from which your day will grow.

My Concerns

Finally, bring your day to Jesus. Not as a to-do list, but as a conversation. What do you need? What are you uncertain about? What would help you follow him today—not perfectly, but genuinely? You might pray for patience in a difficult relationship, clarity about a decision, courage to do something hard, or simply the grace to be present. Jesus invites you into this: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:6, ESV). Bring him your real needs—the ones that keep you awake and the ones you barely admit. Ask him to meet you in the hours ahead. Ask him to make you more like himself today. And then release it to him. He is already at work.
