Morning: Opening Your Day with Jesus
A gentle morning prayer to welcome the day ahead, offer yourself to Jesus, and invite His presence into whatever awaits you.

Adoration
Begin by simply noticing Jesus with you in this quiet morning moment. Before the day rushes in, pause and let yourself see Him—steady, patient, already awake and already caring about this day you're stepping into. You might pray something like: *Jesus, I see You here. You're constant, faithful, and true.* As the psalmist wrote, "In the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly" (Psalm 5:3, NIV). There's something beautiful about morning prayer—it's you and Jesus before anything else claims your attention. Let yourself rest in His character for a moment. Talk to Him about the parts of His nature that steady you most: His faithfulness, His nearness, His strength. What is it about who Jesus is that makes you want to trust Him with today?
Confession
The night is behind you, and with it, anything that weighed on your heart. This is the time to set it down with Jesus, to be honest about where you've stumbled or where you're carrying something you wish you didn't. There's no shame in this—it's the reason He came. You might say something like: *Jesus, I confess that I've fallen short. I need Your forgiveness and Your grace.* Remember Paul's words: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, NIV). That's not a heavy thing—it's freedom. Tell Jesus what's true: where you know you've missed the mark, where pride crept in, where fear took over when trust should have. He's not surprised by any of it. He's just waiting for you to bring it into the light so He can wash it away and give you a fresh start today.
Thanksgiving
Gratitude shifts something in us. It opens our hands and our hearts. Even on days that feel uncertain, there is always something to thank Jesus for—often it's the simple things we skip right past. You might begin: *Jesus, I'm grateful for...* and then just name what comes to mind. The apostle Paul urged the Philippians, "Rejoice and be thankful" (Philippians 4:4, NIV), and there's power in that combination. A new morning itself is a gift—the chance to begin again, to try again, to walk with Him differently. Thank Him for the people in your life who matter, for rest you received, for mercies that are new this morning. What are you glad about? What has He provided? Let gratitude fill the space where anxiety might otherwise settle.
My Concerns
Now bring the day to Jesus. Not as a list of demands, but as a conversation with someone who cares. What do you need His help with? Where do you feel weak or uncertain? Where do you want His hand at work? You might pray: *Jesus, I need wisdom for the conversations ahead. I need courage. I need You.* Jesus Himself taught us to bring our needs before God: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find" (Matthew 7:7, NIV). The day ahead holds unknowns, and they're not yours to carry alone. Ask Him for patience, for presence of mind, for gentleness where you tend toward harshness, for boldness where fear tempts you to hold back. Ask Him to guide your words, to open doors He wants opened, to close ones that need closing. Ask Him to make Himself real to you throughout the day—not as a distant idea, but as someone walking with you through every hour.
