Morning with Jesus: A Fresh Start
Begin your day by bringing yourself—fully and honestly—to Jesus. This prayer guide walks you through adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication to set your heart toward Him as the day unfolds.

Adoration
Start by noticing who Jesus is. In the quiet of morning, before the day crowds in, you have space to simply behold Him. You might pray about His faithfulness—how He has held you through nights, how He wakes with you into this new day. As the psalmist writes, "Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights" (Psalm 148:1, ESV). Tell Jesus what draws you to Him. Is it His kindness? His strength? His presence with you? Don't rush this. Let your words be simple and true. "In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly" (Psalm 5:3, NIV). You are not starting this day alone.
Confession
Morning is a good time to gently acknowledge where you missed the mark—yesterday, last week, or in patterns you're beginning to see. Jesus isn't surprised by any of it. Bring it to Him without rehearsal. You might say, "Jesus, I spoke harshly when I was tired," or "I avoided something I knew I should face," or simply, "I need Your grace today." There's no performance here, just honesty. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, ESV). The beauty of morning is that it comes after rest. You get to begin again. Let that sink in. Whatever you're carrying, Jesus meets you with open hands, not closed ones. Talk to Him about what feels heavy, and receive His forgiveness as a gift you don't have to earn.
Thanksgiving
Even on ordinary mornings, there is ground for thanks. You woke. You have breath. You have Jesus. You might thank Him for small things—the warmth of morning light, a bed to rest in, someone you love, a hope you're still holding. You might thank Him for His patience, or for a lesson learned, or simply for meeting you here, in this moment. "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:18, ESV). Thanksgiving isn't about pretending hard things don't exist—it's about recognizing that God's goodness is real too, running alongside whatever else is true. Take a moment to name three things, no matter how small. Let gratitude shift something in your chest before the day begins.
My Concerns
Now bring your hopes and needs to Jesus. What matters to you today? A conversation you need wisdom for. A person you're worried about. A strength you need that you know only He can give. A dream you're still holding. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:6, NIV). You don't have to have the words perfectly arranged. Tell Jesus what you need. Ask Him to guide your day, to keep you patient, to help you see others the way He sees them. Ask Him to make you aware of His presence through the hours ahead. He invites your asking. He wants to know what's on your heart.
