Everyday life

Adoration
Begin by simply noticing who Jesus is. You don't need eloquent words—just speak what comes to mind. Maybe it's gratitude for his patience. Maybe it's awe at his power. Maybe it's wonder that he knows you completely and loves you still. As the apostle Paul wrote, "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life" (2 Peter 1:3, ESV). Take a moment to tell Jesus what draws you to him today. What quality of his has touched your life, even in small ways this morning? Let that become your prayer of praise.
Confession
Now, gently bring the weight you're carrying. The harsh word you spoke. The worry that won't leave. The corner you cut. The good thing you didn't do. Jesus already knows—there's nothing hidden from him. And here's the beautiful part: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, ESV). You're not confessing to earn his love; you're confessing because his love is already certain. Talk to him about what's burdening your conscience. Ask for his forgiveness. Feel the weight lift.
Thanksgiving
Shift your eyes to what's been given. The breath in your lungs right now. A person who knows you. A meal you've eaten. A moment of rest. A strength that carried you through. "Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18, ESV). Don't wait for perfect circumstances to be grateful. Name three things—small or large—that you're holding with open hands. Tell Jesus thank you. Let gratitude settle in your chest like warmth.
My Concerns
Finally, bring what you need. Not demands, but honest requests. A decision ahead of you. A relationship that needs healing. A fear you carry. Provision. Guidance. Peace. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:6, ESV). Jesus invites you to ask. So ask. Tell him what matters to you, what you're hoping for, where you need his presence most. Rest in the knowledge that he listens—not because you've earned an audience, but because you matter to him.
