A prayer guide to celebrate God's goodness and thank Him for the joy He has brought into your life. This midday moment invites you to pause and let gratitude overflow, bringing your whole heart into the light of what He has done.

Grateful for something

Adoration
Stop here and let yourself simply look at Jesus. Not for what He can give you, but for who He is—the One who turns sorrow into dancing, who delights over you with singing. As the psalmist writes, "Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things" (Psalm 98:1, ESV). You might praise Him for His faithfulness, the way He shows up, the kindness He extends. Take a breath and speak it out—maybe it's just "You are so good," or maybe there's a fuller song rising in your chest. Let the joy you're feeling become an offering of worship. "The heavens declare the glory of God" (Psalm 19:1, ESV), and right now, your own heart can echo that same declaration. Spend a moment telling Jesus why He is worthy—not because you owe Him, but because it feels true and alive in you today.
Confession
Even in celebration, there are places in your heart that need light. Maybe you've held back from fully rejoicing, waiting for permission. Maybe you've felt unworthy of this joy, or you've doubted it would last. Or perhaps in the rush of good things, you've forgotten to turn toward Him and give Him the credit. There's no judgment here—only invitation. Jesus stands ready to hear you and set you free. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, ESV). Talk to Him about what's held you back from full-hearted celebration. What whispers have you believed that aren't true? Lay it down. His grace is bigger than every hesitation, and it's available to you right now.
Thanksgiving
This is the easiest and most joyful part of your prayer today. Name the good thing that's brought you here—the win, the kindness, the answered prayer, the unexpected blessing. Don't rush past it. Let your gratitude be specific and warm. "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:18, ESV). You might thank Him for how He orchestrated things, or the people He placed in your path, or the strength He gave you. Thank Him for His timing. Thank Him that He lets you experience joy, that He doesn't hoard goodness but shares it freely. The Apostle Paul wrote, "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice" (Philippians 4:4, ESV). Let that joy spill out in gratitude—specific names, specific moments, specific reasons. Your thanks is a gift back to Him.
My Concerns
With a grateful heart full and settled, you can now ask Jesus for what comes next. What does this moment of joy make you long for? Maybe it's protection over what He's given you. Maybe it's the desire to share this blessing with others, or to extend the same grace you've experienced. Maybe it's wisdom to steward this season well, or courage to step into the next thing. "You have not, because you ask not" (James 4:2, ESV). Bring your hopes and your needs to Him with the same openness you've already shown. Tell Him what you want to see grow from this celebration. Ask Him to deepen your trust, to open doors, to keep your heart near His. "And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us" (1 John 5:14, ESV). Speak freely—His ear is open to you today.
