Adoration
Start by turning your attention to who Jesus is in moments like this one. He is not distant from your confusion; He is the one who sees the whole picture when you can only see the next step. As James writes, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you" (James 1:5, NIV). Jesus welcomes your need. He doesn't rush you toward an answer; He invites you to trust that His guidance is rooted in His perfect knowledge and His love for you.
Take a moment to acknowledge Jesus as your guide. You might pray something like: *Jesus, I'm grateful that you don't leave me to figure this out alone. You see what I cannot see. I worship you as the one who knows the way forward.*

Confession
Be honest about what holds you back from trusting His guidance. Maybe you're afraid of making the wrong choice, or you're reluctant to follow where His direction might lead. Perhaps you've been trying to solve this on your own strength and realized you're tired. There's no shame in any of that—it's human, and Jesus meets you there. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, NIV). He doesn't demand that you have it all together before you ask Him.
Speak to Jesus about what's making this decision hard. You might say: *Jesus, I confess that I've been anxious about choosing wrong. I'm afraid of disappointing others—or myself. Help me lay that down with you.*

Thanksgiving
Even in uncertainty, there are gifts to notice. Thank Jesus for the people He's placed in your life, for the time you have to make this decision thoughtfully, for any clarity you've already received. Give thanks that He is actively working in your circumstances, not watching from a distance. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him" (Romans 8:28, NIV). His guidance isn't just about the choice itself—it's about shaping you through the process.
Take a breath and acknowledge one or two things you're genuinely grateful for right now. You might pray: *Thank you, Jesus, for not leaving me guessing. Thank you for the people who support me and for the time I have to discern this well.*

My Concerns
Now bring your specific need directly to Jesus. Don't hide the weight of it—lay it out. Ask Him to quiet the noise so you can hear His voice. Ask for wisdom that cuts through your fear. Ask Him to close doors that shouldn't open and to illuminate the path He's inviting you down. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV).
You might pray something like: *Jesus, I need your wisdom. Show me the way forward. Quiet my anxiety so I can hear you clearly. Give me courage to follow where you lead, even if it's not what I expected.* Then—this matters—ask Him to give you peace as a sign of His presence, even before the full picture becomes clear. Sometimes the peace itself is the guidance. "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace" (Colossians 3:15, NIV). Wait a moment in silence and let Him speak to your heart.
