Adoration
Start by turning your attention toward Jesus—the one who sees the whole path ahead. You might acknowledge that He is not confused about your future, that His counsel is steady and true. As James reminds us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you" (James 1:5, NIV). Notice that—He gives generously. There's no hesitation in Him, no impatience with your uncertainty. Spend a moment recognizing that Jesus has navigated every crossroad, and He knows the way forward. You might whisper something simple: *Jesus, You are my guide. You see what I cannot.*
Confession
Now, gently bring to mind where you've been walking on your own. Have you been making moves without consulting Him? Have you trusted your instinct more than His voice? There's no shame in admitting this. Confession here isn't about guilt—it's about clearing the line between you and Him. Peter writes, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7, NIV). Your worry, your scrambling to figure things out alone—He wants to carry that. Tell Jesus what you've been holding too tightly. You might simply say: *I've been trying to steer this myself. I'm ready to listen.*
Thanksgiving
Before you ask, pause and thank Him for what He's already done. He has guided you here, to this moment. He's been faithful in past decisions—even the ones that felt unclear at the time. Thank Him for His patience with your doubts, for the ways He's shown up before. The Psalms say, "I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:14, NIV). His guidance isn't random; it's woven through your story with care. Express gratitude for His presence in this very hour—that He's willing to be found when you seek Him.
My Concerns
Now speak your question to Jesus. What decision sits in front of you? What path are you unsure about? Don't soften it or pretend it's smaller than it feels. Name it clearly. Then ask Him to make His will plain—not in some distant future, but in a way you can understand and follow. Jesus said, "The Holy Spirit... will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you" (John 14:26, NIV). You might ask: *Show me the next right step. Give me the courage to follow where You lead.* Wait after you pray this. Let there be silence. Sometimes His guidance arrives as a quiet knowing, a shifted perspective, or a word that suddenly makes sense. Trust that if you've asked, He is answering.
