Seeking Guidance This Morning
A gentle prayer guide to help you bring your questions and uncertainties to Jesus at the start of your day, inviting His wisdom into the decisions ahead.

Adoration
Start by turning your attention to who Jesus is — the One who sees the whole path ahead even when you cannot. You might acknowledge His steadiness by praying something like: Jesus, You are wise beyond measure. You know tomorrow as clearly as You know today. As the psalmist writes, "The Lord will guide me with his eye" (Psalm 32:8, ESV) — not with confusion or reluctance, but with the care of someone who knows you completely. Spend a moment sitting with that truth. Jesus has never been uncertain. He has never second-guessed His own direction. And He offers that same clarity to you. Let yourself rest in the knowledge that you are praying to someone who is not confused about your life, even if you are.
Confession
Now, gently bring any ways you may have moved forward without consulting Him. You might pray: Jesus, I confess that sometimes I rush ahead, making my own plans before asking You. I lean on my own understanding when I could lean on Yours instead. There is no shame in naming this — it is simply honest. As it says in Proverbs, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5, ESV). Invite Him to soften any resistance in you, any place where you have been trying to figure things out alone. He does not condemn you for it. Instead, He waits quietly for you to turn toward Him again.
Thanksgiving
Even in uncertainty, there is much to thank Him for. You might pray: Thank You, Jesus, that You care about the small decisions and the large ones. Thank You that I do not have to find my own way in the dark — that You have already promised to guide me. You can give thanks for the very fact that you are uncertain: it brings you here, seeking Him, rather than moving ahead in false confidence. As Paul reminds us, "In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God" (Philippians 4:6, ESV). Gratitude and asking belong together. Thank Him for being the kind of Father who wants to be asked, and who is never too busy for your questions.
My Concerns
Now bring your specific need. You do not need to have all the details perfectly organized — just tell Jesus what you are deciding, what you are unsure about, and where you need His light. You might pray: Jesus, show me what You are calling me toward. Help me sense Your direction, whether that comes through circumstance, the counsel of people I trust, Scripture, or a quiet knowing in my heart. Give me patience to wait for clarity rather than rushing to fill the silence. As James writes, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him" (James 1:5, ESV). Take your time here. Tell Him the question. Ask Him to guide not just your choice, but also your peace as you move through this day. You might ask Him to reveal what you need to see, to close doors that should remain closed, and to open pathways that align with His purpose for you.
