Seeking Guidance This Morning
A prayer guide to help you invite Jesus into the decisions and directions ahead of you today. This guide creates space for you to listen for His wisdom as you begin your morning.

Adoration
Start by simply noticing who Jesus is—the one you're about to ask for wisdom. You might tell Him: You are the God who knows the end from the beginning. There's no path I walk that surprises You, no choice I face that is hidden from Your sight. As Proverbs reminds us, "In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:6, NIV)—not because you'll suddenly see ten steps ahead, but because He is trustworthy at every single step.
Take a moment to let that settle. Jesus is not distant from your confusion or your waiting. He draws near to those who seek Him. You might whisper to Him: I come to You this morning because I trust that You care about the details of my life. Thank You for being the kind of God who invites me to ask.

Confession
Now gently turn toward anything in you that gets in the way of hearing His voice. Maybe it's fear—fear that you'll make the wrong choice and mess everything up. Maybe it's impatience, a wish to know everything right now. Maybe it's doubt that He's actually leading at all. You don't have to perform certainty you don't feel. Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, NIV). He is not waiting for you to clean yourself up first.
Talk to Him honestly: Where I'm wrestling with trust, forgive me. Where I'm trying to control the outcome instead of letting You lead, help me release my grip. Where I'm afraid, remind me that You are with me. Don't rush this—let Him meet you in whatever is true right now.

Thanksgiving
Before you ask, pause to recognize what He's already done. He has guided you this far. Every time you've sensed His leading—whether clear or quiet—He was there. Every wise word from a friend, every unexpected door that opened, every closed door that later made sense: these are traces of His faithfulness.
You might say: Thank You for the ways You've guided me before. Thank You that I don't have to see the whole road to take the next step with You. Thank You that my uncertainty doesn't surprise You or frustrate You. "The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?" (Psalm 27:1, NIV). In this morning hour, I'm grateful that I can bring my confusion to You as an act of trust, not failure.

My Concerns
Now bring your specific need into the light. What decision or direction are you facing today? It might be something that feels enormous, or something small that nags at you. Either way, it matters because it matters to you, and therefore it matters to Him.
You might pray: Show me the next step, Jesus. I'm not asking for the whole map—just help me see where to place my foot today. Give me wisdom that's not just smart, but kind. Help me notice the ways You're already speaking: through Scripture, through counsel, through circumstances, through the still, small voice of Your Spirit. And if I need to wait longer before moving, give me peace in the waiting.
As you close this time, remember that guidance isn't always a lightning bolt—sometimes it's a quiet knowing that grows stronger as you turn toward it. Stay attentive through your day. He may speak through a conversation, a verse that catches your eye, or simply a deepening sense of which direction feels like home. You're not walking this alone.
