Seeking Wisdom This Morning
A prayer guide to invite Jesus into your decisions and questions as you begin your day. Take time to notice where you need direction, offer your uncertainty to Him, and listen for the still, small voice that guides your steps.

Start by simply noticing who Jesus is to you this morning. He is trustworthy, He knows what lies ahead, and He has never led you astray. You might spend a moment in quiet gratitude for His character. As Proverbs reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV). Before you ask Him for guidance, let yourself rest in the truth that He is already leading. You might pray something like: *Jesus, I come to you this morning knowing that you are wise, faithful, and present with me. You see what I cannot see. Thank you for caring about my path.*
Take a breath. Notice that this God—the one who orchestrated the sunrise, who holds all things together—is attentive to you and your day. That kind of care deserves your wonder.

Confession
Now bring your uncertainty and fear into the light. Perhaps you're afraid of making the wrong choice, or you're tempted to trust your own judgment over His. Maybe you've been anxious instead of seeking Him first. There's no shame in admitting where you've relied on your own strength. Jesus doesn't shame us for our doubts; He invites us into honesty. As He once told His disciples, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, NIV). Your weariness, your second-guessing, your sleepless planning—He sees it all and welcomes you anyway.
You might simply say: *Jesus, I confess that I've been anxious about this decision. I've been trying to figure it out on my own instead of waiting for you. I'm sorry for not trusting you fully. Thank you for meeting me here, even in my doubt.*

Thanksgiving
There's already so much to thank Him for. Notice the ways He has guided you before—times when you couldn't see the next step but He provided it anyway. Thank Him for the counsel of trusted friends, for closed doors that protected you, for His patience with you when you've been slow to listen. The psalmist writes, "I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" (Psalm 139:14, NIV)—and His guidance over your life is one of those wonderful works.
You might pray: *Thank you for leading me faithfully in the past. Thank you for the wisdom you've already given me through your Word, through others, and through experiences I've had. Thank you for promising that you will guide me with your eye upon me. I'm grateful to be someone you care enough to direct.*

Now ask. Be specific. Name the decision you're facing, the confusion you feel, the area where you need clarity. Don't be vague—Jesus wants to hear what's actually weighing on you. As James encourages us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you" (James 1:5, NIV). He is ready to answer.
You might ask: *Jesus, show me what my next step is. Give me wisdom about [name the specific situation]. Quiet my anxious thoughts and help me hear your voice clearly. Guide me not according to what feels easiest or what I want most, but according to what is true and right. Help me recognize your guidance when it comes—through your Word, through circumstances, through the counsel of people I trust.* Take a moment to sit with your request.
